Jacksonville Jaguars schedule analysis

Mike Mularkey has a shot at a good start in his first season as coach of the Jaguars, with an opener at Minnesota and a Week 3 trip to Indianapolis sandwiched around a home game against defending division champ Houston.

Last year the Jaguars got a surprising three prime-time games, including two at home. This time they get the minimum of one, and it’s a Thursday night game that kills two birds with one stone for the NFL — Nov. 8 at EverBank Field against the Colts.

Lookouts win series-opener at Jacksonville

J.T. Wise drove in a pair of runs and Allen Webster escaped trouble through six innings to lead Chattanooga to a 4-3 win over Jacksonville at the Baseball Grounds on Tuesday night.

Wise was the only Lookouts’ player with a multi-hit game, going 2-for-5 with a pair of singles. His two-run base knock in the second opened the scoring in a three-run inning that included an RBI-single from Kyle Russell.

Chad Henne signs with Jacksonville

Looks like the Seattle Seahawks have one less quarterback to select from in free agency. Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union reports that Chad Henne has signed a two-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he’ll get a chance to compete with Blaine Gabbert for the starting quarterback job.

Henne was scheduled to visit Seattle today, although I have not confirmed with the team if he made the trip or not. The Seahawks still expect Matt Flynn to visit the team’s facility tomorrow.
